Beyond the pitch: “Emergence” and the human soul of entrepreneurship
Art and entrepreneurship share the same raw material: human qualities. That conviction led Newfund to partner with Éditions Bessard to create The 11 Collection: a series of limited-edition photobooks offering a direct, grounded view of what it actually takes to build a company.
At Newfund, we have always known that entrepreneurship is not merely a collection of theories or financial metrics. It is a deeply human journey, a lived reality shaped by the invisible drivers that push us to act. To capture this essence, we are proud to introduce The 11 Collection, a collaboration between Newfund and Éditions Bessard.
This unique project is a way to celebrate the visionaries within our own community, as every entrepreneur featured in the collection is a founder of a Newfund portfolio company. The series serves as a "relay" that moves from a conversation to a book, from a book to a reader, and from a reader to new actions.
A Process Rooted in Reality
The 11 Collection explores eleven human qualities that act as the essential drivers of entrepreneurship. Each volume is born from a unique encounter:
- The Unscripted Dialogue: An entrepreneur and a photographer meet to share experiences and explore what truly matters. We participated in these discussions, and you can feel that something is truly shifting. Barriers fall, the armor starts to crack, and sincerity is released; art creates a unique space for it all to happen.
- The Emerging Word: During their talk, a specific word rises naturally. It was not selected in advance. This word emerged as the most accurate expression of the founder's relation to the world, how she perceives the core principles grounding his leadership, and the translation of her vital energy into a tangible impact on reality.
- The Visual Translation: The photographer listens, understands, and translates this human quality into images, creating a visual record of a shared moment without embellishment. One can wander through these images, escaping the straitjacket of compressed time to reflect on one's own will to act and the principles underpinning each individual's commitment.

Volume 01: Emergence
The first step of this relay, Emergence, is now available. This volume captures the meeting between Joseph Rutakangwa, founder of the AI platform Rwazi and based in Los Angeles, CA, and photographer Giacomo Brunelli from London, UK.
For Joseph, "Emergence" is a movement of "becoming" and a process of active construction. Brunelli captures this internal tension with an instinctive style, showing how an intuition eventually surfaces to transform reality. It is a powerful look at the human trait that supports action and creation.
The Beauty of the Imperfect Object
The material aspect of these books is essential to their message. Printed via risography in Paris, each of the 250 limited edition copies is a unique cultural object The dense inks, visible textures, and slight printing shifts reflect the very reality of entrepreneurship: working within limits, accepting imperfections, and focusing on what truly matters.

Holding this book is not a passive gesture. It is an invitation to look closely, think clearly, and examine your own way of deciding and acting.
